Why Lanolin Free?

  • Description

What is Lanolin?
Lanolin is a substance produced by sheep to protect the fleece from the effects of weathering. It is removed after
shearing, using detergents, and subsequently modified for use in various cosmetics, medical creams and bandages.
It is an excellent moisturiser and protects the skin from water loss.

What must I avoid? The composition of lanolin varies considerably and you may allergic to some types.
Hypo-allergenic lanolin has had its wool alcohol and detergent concentration reduced and may be tolerated by those
allergic to other lanolins. Hydrogenated lanolin is more likely to cause allergy. Amerchol L101 is a type of lanolin
which may also cause allergy.
